Fellow Member and Competitor Dave Thomas

GoinHOT Item Image Dave Thomas, a club member and long time part of the development of USPSA on a national level, is facing some very tough health challenges at this time. Many know him from his involvement and participation in club events. Many more know of Dave as the person that served USPSA for 17 years, retiring as Executive Director of USPSA in December 2012. Dave moved to Chino Valley after retiring and has been a regular part of our matches and help for the NAZC committee. Please respect his privacy and ability to spend time with his family. The best thing we can do at this time is send our positive thoughts and prayers in his direction.

ATTENTION Thursday paper match shooters

The Thursday match directors are finding it difficult to have enough people to setup the match on Wednesday for Thursday.
Twenty people are emailed notices every week . Fewer and fewer come out. We need 7-8 participants to keep from overworking a few.
If you think you might help from time to time and would like to be added to the email list, contact me, Chuck Allen
When you receive a setup notice please respond yes or no about helping.
No experience is needed and practice on setup stages is available. Our setup also directly influences the weekend matches. Help Please !

NSSF OPPOSES IDEA TO DISBAND ATF . . .

GoinHOT Item Image U.S. Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.) has introduced a proposal to eliminate the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and turn its responsibilities over to other federal law enforcement agencies. NSSF opposes the Congressman's suggestion, which has not yet been introduced as a bill. "While we agree that ATF has had a number of high-profile missteps, we do not believe these shortcomings rise to the level of warranting disbanding the ATF," said Larry Keane, NSSF vice president and general counsel for the National Shooting Sports Foundation.

NEW REPORT: IDPA SHOOTERS SPEND $30 MILLION ANNUALLY . . .

GoinHOT Item Image NSSF has a released a new Industry Intelligence Report containing the results of a survey conducted by NSSF and the International Defensive Pistol Association. The major finding: IDPA members spend upwards of $30 million on shooting equipment, delivering significant economic impact. The report, Profile of International Defensive Pistol Association Shooters, also reveals that about 91 percent of members hold a concealed carry permit and 14 percent are concealed carry instructors. "NSSF's research into the habits of recreational target shooters shows that their economic impact is considerable. When we delve further into the pool of target shooters and look at those dedicated to competition, as we have with the IDPA shooter, we find that recreational shooting is very much a lifestyle and the resulting economic impact is substantial," said NSSF Research Coordinator Dianne Vrablic, who headed up the project.
